The Biochemistry degree will allow you to study the molecular make up of living things. The first year modules will provide a broad survey of the various biological and chemical disciplines, including biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, microbiology and physiology. In subsequent years these concepts are developed further in the study of gene regulation, cell communication, the mechanisms of enzyme action and the integration of metabolism. Your choice of option modules and specialised topics courses will allow you to study some of these areas in greater detail, giving your degree a unique flavour.
