The Menopause Fitness Course is a 6-week programme designed to help women navigate the physical, emotional, and hormonal changes that occur during menopause, typically between the ages of 40 and 55.
The goal of a menopause fitness programme for the individual is to promote physical and mental well-being, and to understand the different training approaches to help with menopause symptoms. Regular physical activity is a key component of any menopause programme to manage weight, strengthen bones, and improve mood.
The next intake of the 6-week Menopause Fitness Course will be starting in the new year. Please complete the booking form to secure your space.
If this intake is full or you’re not able to join us, we will be running additional intakes throughout the year and we will contact you to confirm your space.
This course will run alongside the Exercise Referral Scheme (if needed with other medical conditions, booked separately).
Our Exercise Referral Coordinator Liz Coult has designed a 6-week Menopause Fitness Course to help women manage menopause symptoms through exercise and long-term health and lifestyle changes.

Once enrolled on the course, you will have an initial health assessment with the Exercise Referral Coordinator, who will then provide a tailored diet and exercise plan. You will be able to use the on-campus gym and group exercise classes throughout the 6-week course, with weekly check-ins with the Exercise Referral Coordinator who will talk through any concerns or adaptions needed.
The course is open to students, staff, alumni, and members of the public.
Throughout the 6-week course you will receive:
Week one: Introduction
Weeks two to five: Following the plan
Week six: Long-term Strategies
Once you've finished the 6-week Menopause course, you have the option of joining the 10-week graduate course. This programme has two to three check-ins per week and is available to all graduates of the 6-week course. See 10-week Graduate Course pricing.
"I would consider myself fairly active, however I do tend to do the same things and found myself gaining quite a bit of weight. What I liked about this course was having the chance to try out the machines in the gym, the classes and weights, to find out what I enjoyed and to give my confidence a boost with going to a gym. Liz is so encouraging, and having the support of her and the group really helped too as I didn't feel alone. I would definitely recommend the course if you are looking for something that gives you all round support and guidance with nutritional advice, exercise plans and tips on how to cope with the symptoms of menopause."
