Welcome to this new resource centre. Through it you can access researcher development opportunities at the University of Kent and externally. This ranges from structured training courses to informal learning events, networks and careers advice. You can also find out about funding available to support your career development. These resources will help you to develop your effectiveness as a university-based researcher and to develop the range of skills for the variety of other careers open to people with research experience.
At Kent we are committed to providing researcher development resources that will support you and will support our ambitions for building on our success in REF 2014.
The University of Kent holds the European Commission’s HR Excellence in Research award. This confirms our commitment to the Principles in the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers and the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for their Recruitment.
The Researcher Development Working Group (RDWG) exists to facilitate a strong, supportive system that helps research colleagues to develop their careers.
We hope that all research active staff, and colleagues who are developing a research career, will find these resources useful. Please look at resources outside your immediate specialism and contact us with ideas about how resources from your part of the University can be shared with others. We will continue to develop this provision and welcome your feedback and suggestions.
