A public debate on health policy will bring four general election candidates to the University on Wednesday 31 May.

With the NHS and other health issues prominent in the election campaign at both a national and local level, the debate – organised by the University’s Centre for Health Services Studies (CHSS) – promises to provide plenty of talking points.

Taking part will be Canterbury and Whitstable constituency candidates Sir Julian Brazier (Conservative), Rosie Duffield (Labour), James Flanagan (Liberal Democrats) and Henry Stanton (Green). All the candidates will have an opportunity to outline their party’s health policy plans and will take questions from the audience. The debate will be chaired by Professor Stephen Peckham, Director of CHSS.

The Pre-Election Health Policy Debate is free and open to all. It takes place at 19.00 (doors open 18.30) at the Gulbenkian Theatre at the University’s Canterbury campus.

For those not able to attend, questions may be tweeted in using hashtag #CHSSge17. CHSS will also be making the debate available live on the following channels: youtube.com/kenttelevision, CSRfm radio locally via 97.4fm, or online at http://CSRfm.com.
