David Shemmings, Professor of Child Protection Research, awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours.
His award, which was announced on 13 June, was for his services to child protection.
Professor Shemmings is Co-Director of the University’s Centre for Child Protection (CCP).
A celebrated centre of excellence and innovation in training, research and practice for professionals involved in child protection, the CCP has developed innovative online-based training and awareness tools to deal with issues such as child sexual abuse and grooming.
Its developments and initiatives are aimed at both professionals and young people.
