Charlotte Hutchinson has very personal reasons for wanting to raise money by running the London Marathon for Children with Cancer UK.

Charlotte, who is studying Computing with a Year in Industry, will be running the 26.2 mile route with her sister Harriet on Sunday 26 April. They can be sponsored on their fundraising page.

Harriet said, ‘We have chosen to run the marathon as both a personal challenge and to raise money for Children with Cancer UK. We thought it appropriate to start our fundraising on 11 November 2014, because as of that day Charlotte was clear of cancer for six years.

‘In 2006 Charlotte was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL). She underwent two and a half years of intensive treatment at the Royal Marsden Hospital. As a result of this treatment she developed a bone condition called Avascular Necrosis for which she is still receiving treatment. Therefore, running the Marathon will be an even greater achievement for Charlotte, providing her legs don’t give up!’
