Professor Paul Allain, Dean of the Graduate School at the University, has developed new online training films for actors and theatre students.

Professor Allain developed the online training resource to help in both the practice and analysis of acting.

Physical Actor Training – an online A-Z encourages enquiry and an active, hands-on training process geared toward movement work, vocal exploration, and physical training. Each exercise can be explored and experienced in myriad ways by an individual or group.

Professor Allain said: ‘We include the trainee’s voice, showing the learning and training process, highlighting challenges and how to work with them. The A-Z provides viewers with a foundational resource from which to build.’

The A-Z is a digital resource created with actor trainer and teacher Frank Camilleri and filmmakers Peter Hulton and Stacie Lee Bennett-Worth. It includes over 60 short films and has been published by Methuen Drama Bloomsbury.
