November 2018 issue of community newsletter now available

The November issue of Community, the University's newsletter for the residents and businesses of Canterbury, is about to be delivered to local residents by the Royal Mail.

The newsletter is now available online will also be delivered to residents and available on campus this week. Highlights of this issue include:

  • An update on campus developments including a Kent Community Oasis Garden, Park Wood Student Hub, our new Economics building and new virtual campus tours for both Canterbury and Medway
  • A round-up of the ongoing Framework Masterplan including our planned short- and medium-term priorities
  • Information on a range of ways that people can interact with and contribute to research at Kent, including an opportunity for two members of the public to join our Public Engagement with Research Advisory Group
  • Stories of our partnership working in the community; welcoming new students to the area, keeping them safe, and promoting good relations with our neighbours as our students settle into city life
  • News of a new Human Geography degree programme from 2019 exploring how the discipline might make a positive difference in our complex and evolving world
  • Key dates for the diary and useful contacts

Community is designed to keep local residents, businesses and community representatives up-to-date with the latest news and developments from the University of Kent. It is published four times a year – in February, May, August and November – and is delivered to 12,500 properties in Canterbury.

The newsletter can be read online in the community section of the University website and is available at a number of on-campus locations for visitors to pick up.
