The University is hosting a free event on Wednesday 12 September examining the rise of female leaders in business and the traits that have made them successful.

The event, entitled Is the Future Female?, has been organised by the Kent Business School as part of its Business Soundbites series of events. These are designed to help businesses, not-for-profit organisations and local government bodies in Kent hear about the latest research from the school and network with one another on current business trends.

Three female academics from KBS will discuss their research and how it relates to women in the workplace. This will cover issues such as the feminine traits that make for good leadership skills, how to end the clichéd image of a manager being a male and how to ensure staff feedback is delivered in a way that works for both men and women.

There will then be a panel discussion led by Hilary Steel from the Kent Women in Business Awards and Dawn Nicholson, a postgraduate researcher in the University’s School of Psychology. The event will end with a networking session over drinks and canapes, accompanied by live music.

The event is free of charge and will take place in the Sibson Building from 17.00 at the Canterbury campus and those interested in attending are asked to register online. There is free parking on site from 17.00 too.
