Former boxing champion and honorary graduate Barry McGuigan MBE will be in conversation with University Chancellor Gavin Esler later this month.
The two will meet for the event, one of the University’s popular In Conversation series, at the Gulbenkian on Monday 26 March at 18.30.
One of the best boxers of his generation, Barry McGuigan won a multitude of titles. At the age of 17 he took a gold medal at the 1978 Commonwealth Games and as a professional he won the British, European and world featherweight titles. He is the current President of the Professional Boxing Association.
Tickets for the In Conversation event are priced £4 and £5 and are available from the Gulbenkian box office.
And there is also an opportunity to keep the conversation going by joining a post-talk dinner in the University’s Rutherford Dining Hall after the talk for £35.
