Lord Heseltine began his visit at the Canterbury Innovation Centre where he met Carole Barron, Director of Innovation & Enterprise and Peter Nicholls, Dean of Health. Lord Heseltine toured the University’s HIVE facility that provides dedicated student enterprise and start-up support for Kent’s students, staff and alumni.

Lord Heseltine, accompanied by Sadie Morgan, of dRMM architects, then saw the University’s new Library and Law School buildings before being shown the University master plan in the Colyer Fergusson building, where he attended a working lunch to discuss opportunities for economic growth across East Kent.

He spent the day in Kent as part of the Thames Estuary 2050 Growth Commission’s Consultation into redeveloping the Thames Estuary.
