Public event on the future of conservation in Kent

Speakers for the 12 September event include University conservationists and guests from local and international organisations.

Hosted by the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE), the conference will take place from 9am to 5pm in Marlowe Lecture Theatre 1 on the Canterbury campus. Tickets cost £7 for students and £9 for non-students.

Talks will cover topics such as species re-introductions and citizen science, as well as highlighting the impact of potential conservation threats and opportunities in the county.

Each set of talks will be followed by a discussion session and there will be a photo display over lunch.

Professor Carl Jones MBE, from the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, will give the keynote lecture, entitled From the Mauritius kestrel to Kentish choughs: the role of captive breeding and reintroductions in conservation.
