The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Save the Rhino International, Cathy Dean, will be the guest speaker for the 2018 Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE) annual lecture on March 20.

Cathy Dean has been CEO since 2001 and her talk will discuss ongoing efforts to tackle the rhino poaching crisis and how this can best be achieved.

This will consider everything from using the latest scientific research to inform conservation policies to taking advantage of cutting-edge technologies that can be used to fight back against poachers.

She will also talk about how organisations like Save the Rhino can best articulate the issues they face to stakeholders, donors, journalists and members of the public to ensure people are informed and engaged with the work they do and the plight of the rhino.

The talk will take place on the University’s Canterbury campus on March 20 from 6.30-7.30pm in the Woolf Lecture Theatre and is free to attend.
