International Student

Get involved

While you are a student, it is important to make use of the fantastic opportunities available to make new friends, meet people, and experience everything that university life has to offer.

Student societies and the union

You will find that joining societies is a great way to meet like-minded people. There is a big societies fair during Welcome Week, where you can meet the societies, and sign up for those that you are interested in.

Kent Student Union has over 100 student societies. Many are specifically for international students, such as the Afro-Caribbean, Asian, Chinese, German, Hellenic and Japanese societies. There are over 40 sport societies including ice hockey, American football and cricket, and much, much more....

The campus has an active student community on campus with a range of student societies to meet everyone's interests and if you can't find one that interests you Kent Union will help you set one up.

The campus has a gym, badminton, tennis and squash courts, all-weather football pitches and basketball. There are a huge range of sports societies and teams, so you can develop your skills in whichever sport you wish.

‘Do Something Different’ is a new programme of one off events and activities organised by Kent Union Student Activities department. The programme gives you the freedom to dip in and out as you choose. It will also offer you the opportunity to meet new people and find out more about the local community.

We also have a newspaper and radio station on campus.

Get involved, make the most of it, and don't worry - it's a lot easier to settle in than you might think.

The Universities at Medway Student's Union also have a range of student societies that cater for everyone. They are also keen for new societies to be set up. Medway also has a campus newspaper.

Students on the Brussels campus can take part in the social organisations on the campuses of Université Libre de Bruxelles and Vrije Universiteit Brussel. If you would like further information on the type of activities that will be available to please contact the Brussels School.
