How does the Careers Service support KMMS Students?

Welcome to Kent and Medway! The Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS) is a collaboration between the University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University. 

As a KMMS student, you have the unique advantage of accessing the wealth of resources and support offered by both institutions, including  guidance and support from their respective Careers Services. Find out more about ways in which you can access Career Support while you study.

Impartial Careers Advice

The University of Kent Careers and Employability Service allows every student to book a 1-2-1 appointment with a qualified Careers Advisor. 

Our advisors are able to listen, guide and support you as you explore your career ambitions. Whether you are considering ways to gain experience in a particular area, considering graduate schemes or need someone to bounce ideas off of, all are welcome to book an appointment. 

Bookings are made through your Uni Kent Careers Hub account, you will need your University Of Kent email address and password to access this.  

Quick Advise Appointments

Are you writing an application? Would you like someone to look over it for you? Employability Advisors at The University of Kent run 15 minute sessions in which you can gain feedback on your application including your CV and covering letter. This is available to KMMS students. Book using your University Of Kent email address and password. 

Career Support from Canterbury Christchurch

Kick-start your career with the help of the Careers and Enterprise Team. Access free online resources, CV writing tips, job application guidance, interview support, skill development, and personal growth advice.

Visit the Careers and Enterprise Hub for career-related information, events and guidance. Log in to book 1:1 career guidance appointments, connect with the team on live chat, discover the Career Development Fund and find out about the latest events.

The Uni Kent Careers Hub

The Uni Kent Careers is available to all University of Kent Students, this includes all students at the Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS). To log in you will need to use your University Of Kent email address and password. 

The Careers Hub is the main portal for students to access support from the Careers and Employability Service. Activate your account to be able to book 1-2-1 Careers Appointments, Quick Advise appointments, and spaces on career workshops, networking events with employers and application support sessions.

Professional Skills and Employability Activities

We know that Medical Students may also be looking to develop their general skills and invest time into their professional development, as well as interests they wish to explore. 

There are many ways in which you make the most of your University Life and discover what Kent has to offer you to enhance your employability. This includes extra-curricular schemes and regular employability events run by the careers and employability team and employers.
