The University of Kent is to host a free webinar on how to end homelessness in Kent and Medway.

The webinar will take place on Wednesday 16 September from 10am-12pm and will include speakers from Kent Housing Options Group, Homeless Link, Porchlight, Catching Lives, Canterbury Housing Advice Centre and the University of Kent.

It is expected to appeal to those eager to foster positive and vital change in Kent and Medway communities.

Themes of the day will focus on methods for building on the progress made during the pandemic, and how to prevent homelessness increasing as economic difficulties mount across the region and nationally.

The webinar has been organised by Dr Carin Tunåker and Professor Alex Stevens from the University’s School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research and will be chaired by Professor Helen Carr from Kent Law School.

Dr Carin Tunåker said ‘We are looking forward to this opportunity to share and discuss ideas on the crucial subject of homelessness in Kent and Medway with those eager to help make change. The experts from these leading UK charities and local government are offering valuable and practical insights to help us do this and so we are eager to facilitate a space for ongoing collaboration between sectors in the future.’

Twitter handles will be @KentHomeless and #EHKM
