Innovation in Academia Awards by University of Kent

Nominations are invited for the Innovation in Academia Awards, which celebrate academic creativity and innovation between Europe and the US.

The Awards recognise individuals who have studied in Europe and whose professional accomplishments have made a significant and lasting impact in the field of higher education in America.

The award categories are:

  • Innovation in Academia (Top Award)
  • Innovation in Academia for Arts and Culture
  • Innovation in Academia for Science and Business

Nominations close on 28 February 2016. Further information and how to nominate someone for an award is available on the Awards webpages.

The Awards are sponsored by the University of Kent and BritWeek. BritWeek celebrates creativity and innovation between the UK and the USA, holding events in Los Angeles, Miami, Orange County (California), Orlando and San Francisco to promote the British contribution to film, fashion, music, the automotive industry and science.

In 2015, the Innovation in Academia Award was won by Dr Paul Thompson, Professor of Neurology from the University of Southern California. Awards were also presented to Professor Adrian Johns, University of Chicago; Dr Helen Tempest, Florida International University and Dr David Garman, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

All award winners will be invited to attend the Innovation in Academia Awards evening which takes place in Los Angeles on 29 April.
