Kent alumni and friends celebrated the University’s 50th anniversary in Hong Kong with Kent staff

The University has hosted celebratory events with alumni and friends in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong, as part of its 50th anniversary.

During the event in Hong Kong, Professor Eddy Fong, President of the Hong Kong Alumni Association, welcomed guests and spoke about his experiences as Kent’s first student from Hong Kong in 1966.

The University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Julia Goodfellow, spoke at both events about how the past 50 years have shaped the University, and Kent’s aspirations for the next 50.

The Star newspaper in Malaysia published news of the event being held in Kuala Lumpur, and included an article about the University’s research impact, while the South China Morning Post interviewed Professor Goodfellow about maintaining student diversity in higher education.
