Sarah Collins opens Cancer Research UKs new shop

Administrative Co-ordinator Sarah Collins was guest of honour at the opening of the new Cancer Research UK shop in Canterbury.

Sarah, who survived bowel cancer with the help of ground-breaking treatment, cut the ribbon at the shop at 45 High Street on 11 December.

Sarah, based in the Faculties Support Office, said: ‘I’m delighted and honoured to have been asked to open this lovely new shop. It will be a great addition to the city, especially for shoppers who love a bargain!’

She added: ‘Shops like this provide vital revenue for Cancer Research UK and help fund the charity’s groundbreaking work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer – the type of treatment that saved my life. Without it, I and thousands like me, wouldn’t be here today.’

The Canterbury shop will sell quality clothes, accessories and household goods, with all profits going to the charity’s work to help beat cancer sooner. To find out more about Cancer Research UK’s shops and shopping, visit: http://giftshop.cancerresearchuk.org/
