Paris best ‘large’ city for students

Students and staff at the University of Kent, Paris (UKP) have endorsed the QS Rankings announcement that Paris is the best ‘large’ city to be a student in.

In order to be considered for inclusion in the QS World University Rankings Best Student Cities index, a city must first meet two prerequisites: a population of over 250,000 and at least two higher education institutions featured in the QS university rankings.

The index draws on a range of data sources, including lifestyle, employment prospects, and student community.

Dr Ana Medeiros, Director of UKP, added: ‘Without doubt, Paris is one of the most intellectually stimulating cities in the world. As demonstrated by recent architectural developments, it is unafraid to confront the old with the new and its public buildings, cultural treasures and wide-ranging opportunities for the exchange of outlooks and ideas are justifiably celebrated far and wide.’

Lesley Gray, a former MA Student at University of Kent, Paris, said: ‘Studying at the University of Kent’s Paris centre was an unforgettable experience from an intellectual, cultural and social perspective. I particularly enjoyed the interdisciplinary aspects of the MA course and the connection that this provided with the city and its rich resources.’
