The University and the Simon Langton grammar schools have contributed to a new WWI exhibition, featuring images, objects and words.

The exhibition, titled In Remembrance, is currently on show at Canterbury’s Beaney House of Art and Knowledge, running until 4 June 2015.

It has come about following a project co-ordinated by Kent’s Professor Mark Connelly, one of the UK’s leading experts on WWI, working with his School of History colleague Dr William Butler, and also involving pupils at the Simon Langton grammar schools for boys and girls.

The fascinating exhibition of images, objects and words commemorates the start of WW1 and in particular the role of Voluntary Aid Detachment nurses and The Buffs (East Kent Regiment).
