The Vice-Chancellor's Cup

The Vice-Chancellor's Cup was introduced in 2011 by Graham Holmes, Director of Kent Sport. It is an inter-departmental staff competition for all abilities to encourage staff to keep active in a fun and non threatening environment.

A variety of sports and challenges takes place from January to September including: volleyball, school sports day, rounders, bat and trap, racket sports, a pub quiz and bonus rounds. For updates follow Kent Sport on Facebook and Twitter and visit the Kent Sport blog.

There are many other staff events that run throughout the year, which include badminton, tennis and weekly runs. You can download the timetable here.

Vice-Chancellor's Cup teams

Good luck to all departments battling it out for the 2017 Vice-Chancellor's Cup.

Teams and departments

The VC’s Cup for us, is a chance to get together regularly with colleagues who we normally only email or say hello to in passing! We’ve also been able to put faces to names from other departments which has fostered friendly working relationships. The Big Society team are gracious in defeat but we definitely have a healthy sense of competition - everyone likes to win right?

~ Diane Arthurs, Big Society

This is the first year that EDA has been part of the VC’s Cup and we’re hooked! We have been absolutely impressed with the organisation and dedication of the Kent Sport team in putting the events together. The VC’s Cup has really inspired us here at EDA and we now have a regular running club, weekly netball, badminton and Tennis practice and we’ve just bought an Ultimate Frisbee!

~ Famy Rashid, EDA Team Captain

We at EDA would like to say how much we enjoyed being part of the event and how well organised it was. You guys should be very proud of everything you’ve put together.
