  Kent Sport is committed to providing inclusive fitness and sport across all of our facilities. It is our mission to get more people, more active, more often. Our team have been specially trained to assist you with any accessibility enquiries or information regarding all of our activities and services.

We aim to deliver excellence and care in all that we do. We have worked with the English Federation for Disability Sport and have achieved the Inclusive Fitness Mark across all our facilities and services.  

Accessible, Universal and baby changing facilities


• Two accessible Universal changing rooms located by hall 3. Includes 3 private showers per room

• Four accessible private toilets located by the Sports Café, hall 2 and 3 corridor, under the stairs by main reception, and the corridor leading to the dance studio on the first floor

• One accessible private shower facility located in hall 2 and hall 3 corridor

• Two baby changing facilities located in hall 2 and hall 3 corridor and under the stairs by main reception

Inclusive membership concessions

Inclusive Membership concessions are applicable on request. Please discuss your needs with a member of staff or email your enquiry to kentsportadmin@kent.ac.uk.  You will then be invited to visit the Sports Centre to discuss your requirements with a qualified health and fitness professional.

Women-only gym hours 

In collaboration with Kent Union, Kent Sport are supporting the initiative to remove barriers for women looking to use the gym and create a non-judgemental space which will motivate and empower women to be physically active, giving them the confidence to go into the gym and exercise on their own.

These sessions run weekly at the following times;

  • Tuesdays between 1000-1200
  • Thursdays between 1700-1900

Sports facility tours

Tours of the Sports Centre can be arranged prior to application of membership where individual requirements can also be discussed. All staff have completed EFDS approved training and will be happy to assist you with your inclusive enquiry.

Buddy system

Kent Sport permits inclusive members to have a ‘Buddy’ accompany them whilst using all facilities at no additional cost. Please do not hesitate to discuss your specific requirements with a member of our team.

Fitness

The Fitness Suites are equipped with a range of accessible equipment that offers flexible training modes. The fitness team are specifically qualified to explore alternative training solutions for all members. Please let us know how we can help you or ask about our inclusive fitness equipment.

Appointments and orientations

Kent Sport orientations and other fitness suite appointments can be tailored to suit individual needs, please let us know how we can help. Our fitness consultations are conducted in privacy and all information gathered will be in the strictest confidentiality. If you are a member of Kent Sport please be sure to view the orientation video before you use the fitness facilities.

Kent Sport printed literature

Alternative formats are available for all of our timetables and some other marketing literature. Please email our marketing team on sportsenquiries@kent.ac.uk with your specific request.

Support dogs

Kent Sport has a flexible policy regarding support dogs however some restrictions may apply. Please discuss your specific requirements with a member of our team.
