Study Plus - Meditation 1 by Paul Holden


An experience-focused course, aimed at introducing meditative techniques with practical application and benefits to daily life, including work and study. Students will experience a range of meditative approaches, examining their background, principles and applications to increase resilience, boost creativity and bolster confidence.Students will examine the basic principles and constituents common to meditative experience allowing application to their own practise of training the mind, coping with stress and helping to achieve goals, in a systematic way.The bulk of the course is a practical and pragmatic focus on three meditative approaches:MindfulnessMovementTaoistExperience of these practices will be reviewed to consider the personal suitability of different paths to meditation.Avenues of continued practice and developments in the field (which may be explored further by personal, study) e.g. pain management will be discussed.
