Professional Practice (Teaching and Learning) MSc

Tutorials were offered at all stages and these were always well focused.

What attracted you to studying this programme at Kent?

A Master’s-level qualification is now a prerequisite for most senior leadership roles within education and this course came strongly recommended by the Academy I worked for. The structure of the programme not only allowed me to fit studying around my full-time teaching position but also enabled me to interlink each module to an aspect of my practice, so that the two complemented each other.

Did you feel well supported in your studies?

Yes, the level of support from the Centre for Professional Practice was high - tutorials were offered at all stages and these were always well focused. The course is led and taught by an excellent team and the feedback on assignments has been focused and constructive. Most assignments were clear and focused, lots of guidance was given as to how to meet the learning objectives.

How do you think your studies have developed you in your working practice?

My assignment for the collaborative working module helped me to analyse and develop solutions for some of the challenges involved in the job I was applying for and the depth I went into for the report, I feel, gave me the edge I needed to be successful at interview. This particular course has provided me with experience of implementing and evaluating improvement strategies that would have been difficult to gain otherwise.
