Curriculum Internationalisation Development Sessions (CIDS)

These sessions will focus on mechanisms to develop and enhance curriculum internationalisation within modules and co-curricular educational activities. The CIDS are designed to respond to an objective which features in both Kent's Institutional Plan and our Internationalisation Strategy.

The session outline, as described below, describes what the sessions hope to achieve. Please bring with you a module specification you would like to discuss and work on.

We hope to run CIDS a number of times a year from this point onwards, so that different colleagues can draw on support, as and when it is most useful. As you'll note from the information below, we already have a range of good practice from colleagues and students which we will draw on during these sessions.

Session outline:

  1. Key concepts of curriculum internationalisation
  2. Benefits of engaging with Curriculum Internationalisation
  3. Student perspective / videos
  4. Good practice from existing modules
  5. Critical Incidents and Scenarios in curriculum internationalisation
  6. Troubleshooting your challenges and your module development
  7. Ventures and activities to enhance curriculum internationalisation  (Global Learning Online/ Global Twin)
  8. Related funding opportunities: TESSA/ Faculty Internationalisation Fund/ Kent outbound academics/ incoming visiting academics
