University of Kent, Council for Kentish Archaeology and Kent Archaeological Society

The Department of Classical & Archaeological Studies are hosting a co-organised joint study day to examine the county's defences in the First World War.

The event is co-organised in conjunction with the Kent Archaeological Society,  and the Council for Kentish Archaeology.

The event begins at 2pm.

  • On Land - Peter Kendall (Historic England)
  • At Sea - Prof Andrew Lambert (King's College London)
  • in the Air - Victor Smith (Kent Archaeological Society )

4.00pm Tea Break

  • Emergency Planning for Invasion - Simon Mason (Heritage Conversation Group, Kent County Council)

Closing remarks for 5pm close.
