Big Data Can ... Empower Society
An ESRC Business and Local Government (BLG) Data Research Centre event

Extensive work is being carried out by researchers, local authorities, and private sector organisations to make better use of data to improve our day to day lives. Areas being transformed by Big Data include education; healthcare; social care; public sector services, among others.

On 7 November 2017, hear how Big Data is playing a vital role in changing our lives at this event at the University of Kent, Canterbury Campus, as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Sciences.

Professor Julien Forder, Director and Professor of Economics of Social Policy at the University of Kent, and co-lead on the supporting vulnerable people research stream at BLG, will lead this session and be joined by other experts in this field to discuss their views and experiences on the ways that Big Data can positively empower society.
