The University undertakes rigorous analysis of student applications to ensure it recruits the right students. This session will explain the checks undertaken prior to admitting and registering a student and the process for issuing a CAS.

The session will cover

• The checks the University undertakes prior to accepting an overseas student

• The process of issuing a CAS

• Requirements a student must meet to be sponsored

• What a student must provide to register at the University

• How and when to refer students for advice

Learning outcomes

• Understand the University's responsibilities as a Tier 4 sponsor and how this fits with your role

• Understand the process of sponsoring, admitting and registering an overseas student

• General understanding of a CAS

• Know when to refer students for advice and how to get further information
