Becky Upson
Becky is a Graphic Designer with 10 years industry experience of developing signage, layout for print, branding and marketing materials. She has worked with clients including Chris Packham, London School of Economics, Westfield Shopping Centres, London Luton Airport, Sainsbury's and Tesco.
With a degree in Graphic Design from Canterbury Christ Church University, Becky completed a Masters by Research in Media, Art and Design investigating horse-road safety and the impact clear communication can have in accident prevention. Subsequent to her industry sector experience, she took a role as Programme Director of Art and Design at Dover Technical College and joined Kent in 2022.
At the University of Kent, Becky is a lecturer on the Graphic Design programme in the School of Arts and Architecture. Her passion for developing an industry-oriented curriculum includes seeking suitable live client briefs for the students to focus on employability, community-based projects and providing multiple opportunities for students to present their work in exhibition spaces and museums.
In 2023, Becky was awarded the University Teaching Prize in recognition of the exemplary way she has embedded employability into the curriculum.
