Continuing a tradition of showcasing bold, exploratory exhibitions curated by the University of Kent’s Fine Art students, framed by the stunning backdrop of one of the country’s most iconic locations, the Historic Dockyard Chatham, our visitors will encounter a broad range of artistic styles and media, an explosion of imagination and a celebration of art’s potential for society.
This exhibition offers the public a fascinating insight into contemporary art’s most recent practices and processes such as autobiographical explorations of racial identity, a new company specialising in post-pandemic survival spaces, an interactive unspooling of VHS memories, a visualisation of the experience of Parkinson’s disease, a carpet as invasive species suffocates creativity, the wreckage of a rogue communications satellite continues to operate via fractured light, and a child’s reading of space through play creating a new architectural narrative are just some of the themes and media brought together by our artists.
We Are Here: 51°23'44.3"N 0°31'42.5"E…dynamically expands the degree show site to include artists’ projects taking place within a community in Chingford, an audio visual performance as part of Hoxton’s Fuse Festival, and a historical re-enactment of a fiction in Dymchurch. We are here and we are everywhere!
