Personal Development Plan (PDP)

The University of Kent provides students with the opportunity of preparing a Personal Development Plan. This is a detailed form that allows you to establish targets and goals for the development of skills and knowledge related to your studies, as well as providing a useful means of monitoring and recording your progress and achievements. It is not compulsory that you complete one of these plans, but many students may find them very useful.

A Personal Development Plan will help you become more aware of how you are learning and what strategies will help you to perform at your best. An additional reason for pursuing a PDP is that it creates a personalised file to which your tutor can refer in writing you references. Potential employers are likely to respond positively to this personalised insight.

Further information about the Personal Development Plans and help in preparing one are available from the Unit for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (UELT) website. It is also worth visiting the University of Kent's Personal Development Plan website.
