Martin leads the HR Directorate and ensures the Executive Group are advised on key trends and issues, both within the organisation and externally, that will have an impact on the University’s staff as well are bringing forward policy proposals and responses to change. He leads on the development of the organisation’s people strategy and how the various activities of HR mesh together to ensure that Kent can attract, support and retain the people it needs and that our staff and managers remain resilient in the face of change.
Martin directly advises Kent’s Remuneration Committee and is a member of the Staff Policy Committee, Joint Negotiation and Consultation Committee (JSNCC), Probation Committee, Promotions Committee, Senior Staff Salaries Review Committee as well as leading a range of strategic projects across the Directorate. At present he is also a member of the Roles and Relationships Group – a Simplifying Kent strategic project.
