Jef Smith
Jef Smith has taught architectural design at the University of Kent since 2008. Combining his teaching with running the London-based architectural practice, MELD Architecture LLP, up until 2022 he now focuses full time on education.
As a practicing architect, he accumulated a diverse range post-graduate experience in housing, education and workspace projects, most notably designing the critically acclaimed extension to the Central School of Speech and Drama and extensive refurbishment of the Swedish Embassy in London.
Jef graduated from Edinburgh University in 1993 and completed his RIBA Part III exams at the Architectural Association in London.
