The Department of Modern Languages at Kent offers both taught MA programmes and research degrees in French, German, Hispanic Studies, and Italian. Our department is part of the School of European Culture and Languages (SECL), and we collaborate closely with colleagues based in Comparative Literature. Our students benefit from a lively and active research environment and from guest lectures and research seminars organised by the Centre for Modern European Literature. Our postgraduate portfolio includes programmes taught at both our Canterbury campus and our Paris School of Arts and Culture. We offer research degrees and welcome PhD applications by students wishing to work in areas that fit with our expertise and research interests.
