With effect from 1st August 2026, Senate ceased to have a formal governance role in the University of Kent.
Senate was responsible for the academic governance of the University. Its non-exhaustive remit included oversight of the strategic development and delivery of Education, Research and Innovation, Awards, Examiners, Academic Governance, Academic Partnerships and all aspects of student life.
Academic Governance at the University of Kent, now part of the London and South East University Group is now overseen by the Academic Board . See full details of the new LASE Academic Board and its principal committees.
