Mr Julian Cook

About

Julian is an experienced Technical Manager with a long standing career in Technical Services within the School of Biosciences, spanning over three decades. Since joining in 1989 as a laboratory assistant, he has developed expertise in supporting teaching, research and technical environments.
In his current role, which he formally assumed in 2013, Julian oversees the technical services facility and leads the Biosciences technical team. He is responsible for coordinating and preparing undergraduate practical classes, ensuring the smooth operation of teaching laboratories, and providing vital support for research staff and students within the school.
Julian is skilled in troubleshooting, repairing and developing scientific equipment and resources, maintaining laboratory functionality, and ensuring high standards of technical support across the department. His experience and hands-on approach make him a key contributor to our student and research success within the school.
