About

"Modern architecture is driven by energy conservation; it's an especially interesting time to be an architect"

Tara is director of De Linde Architects, a medium sized practice based in Kent, specialising in sustainable architecture. In 2019 she joined Kent School of Architecture and Planning team as visiting lecturer for Professional Practice, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. In addition to covering many aspects of professional practice, the undergraduate course also includes setting up interviews for all students with a range of architectural practices, some local, others London based.

This two way link - academia and professional practice - means that Tara is well placed to relay up to date information and tips on how better to position students for employment.

Tara believes that it is an especially interesting time to be an architect because modern architecture is driven by energy conservation. She is passionate about the new technological tools at our disposal to map, record, edit, react, replay, recycle - a new and exciting arena for which she is preparing her students.
