Arriving at Canterbury

Below you'll find some information what do to when you arrive on campus, including parking, finding hotels and guest houses and what to do if you're living off-campus.

Arriving

If you will be arriving very late at night or in the early hours you should book a local hotel or guest house accommodation and move in the following day (see the 'Hotels/guest houses' tab).

For any unexpected or very late arrivals, the University security service, Campus Watch, is available 24 hours a day on +44 (0)1227 823300 to assist. You will need to show your room agreement and some personal identification to Campus Watch officers before you will be allowed into your accommodation.

Arriving at other times during the year

If you are arriving at another time of the year you will be notified of your arrival date and time.

If arriving by car, please park in the car park closest to your accommodation for unloading. Your car should then be moved to the visitors’ car park to prevent traffic congestion. Details about car parks and how to get to the campus by public transport can be found on the Canterbury maps and directions page.

If you are arriving at any other time after the arrivals weekend, please contact the Estates Department on +44 (0)1227 823609 or parking@kent.ac.uk.
