Access and opening hours
Anyone is welcome to visit Special Collections & Archives, but an appointment is necessary to view material. Feel free to drop in and talk to us if you want to know more or have any queries.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 09.30 – 16.30
Please submit your request for material at least two working days before you wish to visit. Collections take place at 09:00 and 16:00 Monday-Friday.
From time to time it may be necessary to close the reading room for teaching purposes. Please check the Library news for the latest information.

Requesting material to consult
Please give us two working days' notice of your visit to enable staff to retrieve the items. Materials requested on a Friday will be available by the following Tuesday. We will contact you to confirm the time of your appointment. You can request material online.
Special Collections & Archives material can only be accessed in our reading room and is not available for borrowing.
Group teaching facilities
Seminars for groups of up to 20 people can be arranged in the reading room, and material from our collections can be made available to support them. Please give as much notice as possible to ensure the room is available, and provide details of the material required.
