Dr Godfred Afrifa

About

Dr Godfred Afrifa obtained his PhD in Finance and Risk in 2013 from Bournemouth University. In 2008, he graduated with a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Leicester. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University and HND from Kumasi Polytechnic. Godfred is a Chartered Accountant and an affiliate member of ACCA and holds a Certificate in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Prior to joining Kent Business School, Dr Afrifa held academic positions at Canterbury Christ Church University, Bournemouth University and London College of Social and Management Sciences. Dr Afrifa also has over two years of industry experience working as an Assistant Accountant at Allied Security Contracts (UK) Ltd between 2008 and 2010.

Research interests

Dr Afrifa’s research interests primarily focus on SMEs financing, Corporate Governance, Working Capital Management, Microfinance Institutions and Sustainable Supply Chain Performance Management.
