Discover and Develop your Cultural Intelligence (CQ)

Are you equipped to thrive in international and multicultural situations? This professional development course will help you discover and develop your Cultural Intelligence (CQ).

Cultural intelligence, often abbreviated as CQ, is indispensable in today's globalised and diverse world. Professionals working in Higher Education are well aware of this.

CQ refers to the capability to relate and work effectively across cultures, and the ability to successfully adapt to unfamiliar cultural contexts and thrive in diverse settings. CQ is something that can be honed and successfully applied to boost your performance in professional and inter-personal contexts.

CQ comprises four key elements:

  • Motivation (the drive to learn about other cultures)
  • Knowledge (understanding cultural similarities and differences)
  • Strategy (planning for multicultural interactions), and
  • Behaviour (adapting one's actions appropriately)

In today's globalised world, cultural intelligence is increasingly vital for both personal and professional success, enabling meaningful cross-cultural relationships, and effective local and global collaboration.

The Discover and Develop your Cultural Intelligence course is a short, online, instructor-led course designed to enhance your Cultural Intelligence. You can choose between the complete version (3 hours training, 2 hours CQ Assessment and self-study, 1 hour debrief) and the basic version (3 hours training). For dates and costs see Course specifics, below.

Our course facilitators are certified by the Cultural Intelligence Centre (CQ Centre).
