“The Macroeconomics, Growth and History Centre (MaGHiC) organises an annual Lecture where we invite high profile macroeconomists of international standing.” Director of MaGHiC, Professor Miguel Leon Ledesma explained “This year, we are very pleased to welcome, Professor Kiminori Matsuyama. Prof. Matsuyama’s work has been very influential in the areas of growth and structural transformation, trade, credit cycles, and macroeconomic dynamics. On June 23rd he will be presenting “A technology gap model of premature deindustrialization” (with Ippei Fujiwara). The paper will address the observation that emerging economies start deindustrialising at lower levels of development than developed economies. We will also welcome Prof. Ippei Fujiwara, from Keio University and Australian National University, who is a member of the Advisory Board of MaGHiC.”
