Students can apply to be an ambassador for:

  • The Central Ambassador Scheme
  • The Academic Divisional Ambassador Scheme
  • BOTH the Central Scheme and their Academic Division.

Academic Divisional Ambassador Scheme

Do you want to represent your programme within the Division of Computing, Engineering and Mathematical Sciences?

Do you want to work with young people across Kent and Medway to show them the opportunities the University of Kent may be able to offer them?

Do you want to help showcase what the Division has to offer to applicants at Open Days, or create exciting social media content about your life as a CEMS student?

You could earn while you study and showcase your school with:

·         On campus events with prospective students

·         Visits to schools and colleges to work with children and young people

·         Delivering events and activities to small groups

·         Creating and leading workshops

·         Creating social media content across all platforms.

For HSS, ambassador recruitment will take place in January 2023.

Please send an email with the subject line 'Student ambassador: Expression of interest' to hssmarketing@kent.ac.uk by 30 September 2022. 

We will then hold an information session for new ambassadors who are in their first year of study in January 2023. Applicants will be contacted directly, closer to the time with more information.

It is a brilliant opportunity for you to both inspire a passion for science in younger students from underrepresented groups and share your experience of student life with prospective students at open events. You will also develop core transferrable skills to impress future employers with. 

We hope to host a variety of socials for our ambassadors throughout the year to thank you for your wonderful work, starting with a donut session taking place in late October.

Please ensure you will be available for an interview sometime between the 12th to 14th of October if shortlisted. We aim to let you know by the 7th of October whether you've been shortlisted, and then by the 18th of October if we wish to offer you a position.

If you are a Tier 4 visa holder, it is University policy that students may only hold two employment contracts and as such please note that any offer of employment would subject to satisfactory completion of relevant background checks with Human Resources to ensure that the offer falls in line with University procedure.
