Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs)

All new teachers of the University of Kent are eligible to join the formal, credit-bearing Associate Fellowship Scheme (AFS). As space is limited on that programme, we are also working with academic Schools and the Graduate School to develop an additional structured programme of development opportunities for Graduate Teaching Assistants (i.e. postgraduate students who are teaching other students) in their role as teachers.
An online resource is available via the UoK VLE,  http://moodle.kent.ac.uk/

 Fundamentals of HE Teaching

There should be an academic staff member who is the contact for research student teachers and demonstrators in your School and they may use the resources to run workshops and discussions with you about aspects of teaching in your School context.

For more information, contact Dr Jennifer Leigh, Lecturer in Higher Education & Academic Practice, Principal Liaison for GTAs: j.s.leigh@kent.ac.uk

Graduate Teaching Assistants can also take advantage of the many opportunities provided through the Graduate School for general career development; including practical leading sessions which Jennifer Leigh will be running with Jo Collins as part of the Researcher Development Programme
