About

Veli-Pekka is a postdoctoral fellow in the project ‘Grading evidence of mechanisms in physics and biology’. His research in the project focuses on case-studies of mechanistic reasoning in biomedicine and physics, and aims to develop a framework for evaluating the role of mechanistic knowledge, and the quality of diverse evidence of mechanisms in these fields.

Veli-Pekka’s general research interests include philosophy of causality and explanation, philosophy of biology and medicine, and explanatory relations between the social sciences and the life sciences.
