The Department of Comparative Literature at Kent offers both taught MA programmes and research degrees. Our department is part of the School of European Culture and Languages (SECL), and we collaborate closely with colleagues based in the modern languages departments (French, German, Hispanic Studies and Italian). Our students benefit from a lively and active research environment and from guest lectures and research seminars organised by the Centre for Modern European Literature. Our postgraduate programmes include both taught MAs in Comparative Literature (with or without a term in Paris) and in Modern European Literature. We also offer research degrees in Comparative Literature. We welcome PhD applications by students wishing to work in areas that fit with our expertise and research interests.
