Our courses

The Tizard Centre offers a wide range of postgraduate opportunities in the fields of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, autism, and Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support. 

Our programmes are designed to support professionals and students who are committed to improving the lives of people with disabilities and their families through evidence-based practice and research.

We provide flexible study options to suit different needs and circumstances, including full-time and part-time routes, as well as both campus-based and distance learning formats. 

Many of our programmes also offer specialist pathways, allowing students to tailor their studies to their professional interests and career goals. Reflecting our inclusive and person-centred approach to education, we aim to create a supportive learning environment that values diverse experiences and promotes meaningful impact in practice.

MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support

The MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support is carefully structured to prepare students for professional certification, subject to meeting any additional criteria set by the relevant credentialling bodies. Specifically, the course aligns with the requirements of:

  • The UK Society for Behaviour Analysis (UK-SBA)
  • The International Behavior Analysis Organization® (IBAO)

Postgraduate Research Courses

The Tizard Centre offers postgraduate research programmes for students wishing to undertake advanced research in areas such as Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, autism, applied behaviour analysis and positive behaviour support. These opportunities are available in line with the research interests and expertise of our academic staff, ensuring that students receive high-quality supervision from specialists actively engaged in leading research in their fields. Prospective candidates are encouraged to develop proposals that align with the Centre’s established areas of scholarship and its commitment to making sustained positive differences to the lives of people with Intellectual Disabilities and autistic people, and empowering them in proactive ways.
