Grahame Connor Programme Collection

Grahame Connor started collecting theatre programmes around 2009, quite by chance after picking up 4 of them in a stamp shop and finding them very interesting. Since then he amassed a collection of around 4,000 programmes.

After a few years, Grahame decided to confine his collecting to 3 three London theatres – the Phoenix, Wyndham’s and the Garrick Theatre. When he decided he wanted to downsize his collection to just these three theatres, Grahame selected Special Collections and Archives as the home for the rest of his collection, and even spent 6 months volunteering for the team so that he could list the collection to make them more accessible for our users. He plans to donate the remainder of the collection at some point in the future "either when I stop collecting or stop breathing!"

This impressive collection of theatre programmes is mainly focused on London theatres, but includes some provincial and international theatres. In addition, it includes copies of Theatre World magazine (1931-1960) and some theatre books. Books and journals catalogued in Librarysearch.
