1pm - Survival German: Everyday Encounters
We will practise essential phrases for greetings, introducing ourselves, asking for directions, and ordering in a café. Activities include role-plays with props and a “speed-meeting” round in German.
Level: A1- C2. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a complete beginner or proficient in German and would like to revise some basic vocabulary or work on your pronunciation.
2pm - Express Yourself: Personality and Style
Through games and partner interviews, you will talk about yourself, your hobbies, and preferences. Advanced learners extend by discussing style, identity, and “first impressions.”
Level: A1- C2. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a complete beginner or proficient in German and would like to revise some basic vocabulary or work on your pronunciation.
Week 12: 22nd October 2025
1pm - Talking about others – dass / subordinate clauses
We will practice to talk about what other people have said and therefore incorporating known information into new sentences. You will learn / revise subordinate clauses introduced by ‘dass’.
Level: A1-C2. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a complete beginner or proficient in German and would like to revise subordinate clauses.
2pm - Listening: Telephone conversations
We will practice our listening skills working with telephone conversations. More advanced students will work on their understanding of differences in pronunciation and colloquial phrases.

Week 13: 29th October 2025
1pm - Telling Your Story: Narratives Big and Small
We will learn to tell short stories — a funny experience, a trip, or even a made-up tale. Beginners stick to simple past/future with time adverbs; advanced practise preterite/perfect and narrative connectors.
Level: A1- C2. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a complete beginner or proficient in German and would like to revise some vocabulary or work on mastering the past tensess.
2pm - Film & TV in German
We will watch short clips from German films/TV shows (with and without subtitles) and recreate short dialogues, improvise alternative endings, and discuss characters.
Requirements: Basic media vocabulary, verb tenses.
Level: A1- C2. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a complete beginner or proficient in German. Beginners will focus on comprehension and imitation; advanced on analysis and production.
Week 14: Reading Week – no classes
Week 15: 12th November 2025
1pm - German Sentence Structure
We will practise forming sentences in German, focusing on word order in main and subordinate clauses. Beginners will work on simple sentence patterns, while advanced learners will refine their use of more complex structures.
Level: A1–C2. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a complete beginner or proficient in German and would like to strengthen your understanding of German word order.
2pm - Conversations
We will practise everyday conversations in pairs and small groups, focusing on fluency and spontaneity. Beginners will use sentence starters and role cards, while advanced learners will improvise longer exchanges.
Level: A2–C2. This workshop is for beginners with some knowledge of German, intermediate and advanced learners who would like to improve their conversational skills (including pronunciation and fluency).
Week 16: 19th November 2025
1pm - Travel German
We will role-play situations at train stations, airports, and hotels. Beginners practise asking for information and buying tickets; advanced learners deal with delays and more complex interactions.
Level: A1–C2. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a complete beginner or proficient in German and would like to practise real-life travel scenarios.
2pm - Current Affairs Café
We will read and discuss short texts or media excerpts on current events. Beginners focus on key vocabulary and main ideas; advanced learners debate and analyse the issues in more detail.
Level: A1–C2. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a complete beginner or proficient in German and would like to work with authentic materials.
Week 17: 26th November 2025
1pm - Asking for the Way
We will practise asking for and giving directions in German. Beginners will learn simple phrases with maps and role cards, while advanced learners expand into more complex scenarios and cultural tips.
Level: A1–B1. Everyone is welcome, but the focus of this workshop will be on beginners and intermediate learners.
2pm - Debate Club
Structured debates on engaging topics. Beginners use sentence frames to express agreement or disagreement; advanced learners practise persuasive language and rhetorical strategies.
Level: B1–C2. This workshop is for beginners with some knowledge of German, intermediate and advanced learners who would like to improve their oral skills (including pronunciation and fluency).
Week 18: 3rd December 2025
1pm - Christmas Quiz
We will finish the term with a festive quiz on German Christmas traditions, songs, and vocabulary..
Level: A1–C2. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a complete beginner or proficient in German and would like to explore German festive culture.
2pm - Learning German with Poetry
We will read short German poems together and explore their language and imagery. We will then try our hands on writing some German poetry ourselves.
